Follow-up Comment #17, bug #44007 (project octave): I'd say any bsdtar.exe that works in Octave (try 'system ("bsdtar")' ) mingw32-bsdtar was suggested by a MinGW-dev and I tried that one. Maybe it is the only one that handles Windows-style full file paths, I don't know. I noted that in MinGW, bsdtar doesn't have as many options as tar.
