Follow-up Comment #1, bug #44975 (project octave):
_After installation I used the editor of the GUI once and then closed its tab.
I try to open it again but it does not appear any-more._
"Closed its tab" means you closed all tabs and got an empty editor window or
you closed the whole editor window?

'/usr/local/share/octave/4.0.0-rc3/etc/built-in-docstrings' not found_
This means that the documentation is not installed correctly. But this in turn
would mean that the documentation window always was empty in 4.0.0-rc3
_The command "clc" is not working_
Works for me (ubuntu 14.04 64 bit)
