Follow-up Comment #29, bug #44916 (project octave):
Dan, I modified gl2ps so that it prints the list of verices as it gathers them
from the OpenGL buffer. The vertices are already screwed up at that point.
So it seems unlikely that gl2ps is to blame, though I suppose it is still
possible somehow. I'm attaching my gl2ps changes in case anyone else would
like to experiment with them and maybe get some clue about what could be
happening.
