Follow-up Comment #6, bug #44915 (project octave):

Instead of setting LIBL_DRI3_DISABLE, does it also work to set
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1?  What about LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1?
