Follow-up Comment #37, bug #44998 (project octave):

5.1.0 had  build issues for some per https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?45039

So 4.9.2 has issues with x86_64
5.1.0 has issues with i686.

I left a build going last night so will give mine a go and see if it can be
made to have the same problem or works ok for me.
