Follow-up Comment #45, bug #42838 (project octave):
I think the EPS vs EPSC comment was regarding Matlab's syntax for printing.
Meaning
print -deps figure.eps
prints a grayscale eps-file. And
print -depsc figure.eps
prints a color eps-file.
