Thanks for your bug report, although I'm unable to reproduce here. You'll have
to provide some more information for someone to be able to reproduce this, or
debug what's different about your system that causes this.
Can you try this in Octave 4.0.0 on your system to see if the problem still
occurs? It may have already been fixed.
What specific plots are you executing that causes the 100% usage? Does
something as simple as "plot(1:10)" show this immediately? Are you using a
GNU/Linux desktop environment, which one? Or are you remoted over SSH or VNC?
Btw, "octave-cli" stands for command-line interface, not client.
What are the "other issues" you solved by switching to gnuplot?
