Follow-up Comment #15, bug #44095 (project octave):

I wasn't thinking of maintaining a dynamic list or providing programmable
completion.  Instead, what about always attempting filename completion in
addition to completing function and variable names?  Or perhaps limiting
filename completion to cases where the input looks like a character string or
command syntax?
