Follow-up Comment #17, bug #45863 (project octave):
I attached a patch that is meant to be applied on *stable* for testing. It's a
long shot: I added a "glFinish ()" after patch drawing operations to ensure
all patches have been drawn and rasterized before searching for names in the
select buffer.
