Follow-up Comment #16, bug #46758 (project octave):

I agree that having inkscape around seems like a lot too ask.

Is there a way to check whether the .ico is correctly generated without
running the full MXE build?  I'd like to try some experiments, but if it is an
hour and half te build one test I won't get very far.
