Follow-up Comment #2, bug #47369 (project octave):
Thanks for the bug report. However, I am reluctant to replace fminunc with
nelder_mead_min (and add the optim package dependency). Which of the two
optimization algorithms performs better strongly depends on the data. In this
case the simplex method performed better, in other cases the gradient based
method will perform better.
