Follow-up Comment #6, bug #47568 (project octave):
@Rik: Yes, John's recommendation is a good idea.
It would be helpful to include it in the Manual
(in the last entry in Section G.2?). Or, maybe better
to make the default installation directory prefix something
other than /usr/local??
However, users should be told that cleaning the install
directory may be necessary wherever they have declared it.
