Follow-up Comment #5, bug #47527 (project octave): Pinning the Octave icon to the taskbar didn't work at all for me (it seemed to launch the Windows script host, rather than running the script itself). The following workaround worked perfectly for me (retaining the correct icon). 1) Navigate to the folder containing the Octave start menu program listing (e.g. C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsOctave-4.0.0). 2) Right-click the "Octave (GUI)" shortcut and create shortcut to this shortcut. Agree to place on Desktop (will be deleted later). 3) Right-click the newly created shortcut and click "Properties".
