Follow-up Comment #6, bug #47724 (project octave):
My guess for the OP's report is that OCTAVE_HOME is getting removed from the
environment somehow. Can you test on Windows what happens if you "unsetenv
OCTAVE_HOME" inside a running working Octave session?
That's about all I can think of that would cause this. Or somehow Octave is
actually being re-executed by a hibernate or reboot or whatever really
happened, but without the OCTAVE_HOME in the environment (IOW it's not using
the right launcher or batch file or whatever).
If you can't figure out how to get Octave to run without OCTAVE_HOME set
correctly in the environment, then without any further information from the
reporter this is unreproducible and should be closed.
