Follow-up Comment #108, bug #41699 (project octave): Using Octave 4.0.2: If I run octave-gui.exe directly, then Octave's EXEC_PATH and PATH (as returned by getenv) both contain Octave's $bindir. The value of TERM as returned by getenv is cygwin, same as is set in the VBS file. The only things that I see that are different are that the value of QT_PLUGIN_PATH is not set in the environment and the console is displayed temporarily before it is hidden. I think we can export the QT_PLUGIN_PATH directly from Octave or a startup script.
