Follow-up Comment #5, bug #48136 (project octave):

You are right - I missed the modal property not doing anything. 

My main issues were with no dialog function when running matlab written code,
and it hadn't  stay modal for that. 

I will take a look - at least for Qt - probably a separate bug #
