Update of bug #48172 (project octave):

                  Status:            Works For Me => Confirmed              
                 Summary: cannot build from within custom build directory =>
doc build fails with texi2dvi/texi2pdf errors on Ubuntu 14.04

Follow-up Comment #16:

Ok, once I get past these osmesa and gnuplot issues, I can confirm the error
messages with a Ubuntu 14.04 VM build, both texi2dvi and texi2pdf.
