Follow-up Comment #30, bug #45507 (project octave):

So is the plan to leave this bug unfixed for gcc 4.8.2?

We could use compiler-dependent code to use std::acos etc. for more recent
versions and the explicit code for gcc 4.8.2, or just say that 4.8.2 is
limited to small input values.
