Follow-up Comment #18, bug #44823 (project octave):
It would be fine with me to detect systems that are bad and fall back to some
safe but possibly inefficient way of doing things. Or even to just have an
option to choose the safe way. But for some of these graphics problems it's
not clear to me what the safe way is.
