Follow-up Comment #2:

I have pushed

* http://hg.code.sf.net/p/octave/image/rev/e32feef807bc which replaces xround
and xlog2 with STL versions because the image package is already dependent on
C++11 and the octave versions are wrappers for those

* http://hg.code.sf.net/p/octave/image/rev/5edfaa3cce35 which creates a
wrapper for xmin or octave::math::min via a configure check
