Thanks, are you able to test fltk in pure cli mode (launched using "octave
-cli" or "octave --no-gui-libs") with this retina display. Does it suffer the
same issue?

In Qt5 the way do detect the scale factor seams to be the use of
QWindow::devicePixelRatio ().
