Follow-up Comment #18, bug #45610 (project octave):

This bug is still present in Octave-4.2.0-rc2 (official Windows installer from
alpha.gnu.org).

There is a tiny and tested PATCH from Dan for more than a year now (see
comment #13), could we go ahead and use it for the 4.2 release?
