Follow-up Comment #6, bug #49449 (project octave):
The number of columns is equal to the number of equations being solved. You
called init with a single column so only one equation was expected rather than
the 11 in the expression [0:10].
Try this which has 3 equations and 5 timesteps.
odeplot ([0, 10], [1 2 3], 'init');
odeplot ([1;2;3;4;5], rand (3,5), []);
That still might fail in Octave unless you are at least up to
22683:340e37fd3c20.
I fixed the typo in the documentation on the stable branch
