Thank you for the report. I can't reproduce this issue on ubuntu 16.04 LTS
with current stable or default branch.

Is the "\" at the end of the input required for the crash? Does this also
happen when you try to save the new tab that is automatically opened when the
editor comes up with no other file opened?
