Update of bug #52484 (project octave):
Status: None => Works For Me

Follow-up Comment #1:
4.0.1 is deprecated and no longer supported. Please try with the latest
stable version, 4.2.1. I tried it and it appears to work. See the attached
file x.csv which has CR/LF endings (DOS) but loads fine on Linux with
x = csvread ('x.csv')
