Thanks for testing. I have forgotten to post, that changeset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/a9db5eed8fce
introduces the suggetsed behavior from comment #30. I think it is more
intuitive than the previous one and does not rely on the line length. I close
this report and will graft the changesets to stable.
