Follow-up Comment #20, bug #52685 (project octave):

For problems with the @code macro producing misleading results with respect to
the transpose operator, consider the @tcode macro which does not wrap the code
in single quotes in plaintext mode.

Try "help ctranspose" for an example or 'grep @tcode *.texi' in the
doc/interpreter directory.
