You are right, I was confused because of the parallel build. A fuller error
message is:
MAKEINFO doc/interpreter/octave.html/.octave-html-stamp

doc/interpreter/expr.texi:111: Unknown command `sortas'.

Too many errors! Gave up.

'doc/interpreter/octave.html/.octave-html-stamp' failed
