Follow-up Comment #31, bug #52775 (project octave):
Just to report my last couple findings, I have confirmed that Texinfo 5.2 does
produce the correctly sorted output as long as the Gnulib texinfo.tex is
present. And I have confirmed that I can install Texinfo 6.5 into /usr/local
and everything builds again.
