Follow-up Comment #26, bug #49053 (project octave):

@John,

Scripts are attached. I use them to build from my mercurial archive. The
configure script sets the prefix to /usr/local/<username>/octave. That way, in
the event you do install, Homebrew is safe.

I typically don't worry about installing and run octave via ./run-octave
