Follow-up Comment #34, bug #52775 (project octave):
I applied the batch and am a bit confused because it still tried to compile
the documentation (and failed).
Looking at the configure log:
configure:9110: checking for makeinfo support for @sortas command
configure:9121: result: yes
and if I try to run the test manually, I get:
octave> makeinfo --version
makeinfo (GNU texinfo) 4.13
octave> cat conftest.texi
\input texinfo
@cindex @sortas{a} foo
@bye
octave> makeinfo --no-warn conftest.texi
octave> cat conftest.info
octave>
