Follow-up Comment #39, bug #52775 (project octave):
New patch attached. Configure now creates a more complete document example. In
Texinfo 4.13, apparently the document has to actually get to the step where it
attempts to generate the index before it even attempts to see if @sortas is a
known command or macro. I am posting this now, haven't tested yet but I will
be testing shortly with Texinfo 4.13, 5.2, and 6.5.
