Follow-up Comment #1:
Actually, the contour of the marker (a set of consecutive line primitives) is
interpreted by gl2ps as being part of a polyline, not a loop. There is no
junction between the line ends and this turns out to be much more visible with
a large line width.
A possible workaround is to use "round" linecap and linejoin for markers.
