Follow-up Comment #4, bug #53023 (project octave):

My recent experience using current fc27 both locally
and remote is that both:

LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=Yes
export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libGLX_mesa.so.0

are required. One of these works in some contexts and
the other in others. If are used I get good results.
