Follow-up Comment #28, bug #52627 (project octave):
I guess the test was written under the assumption that no one would set TMP on
any GNU or Unix system because it doesn't normally do anything. But Octave
does use TMP as an override for the P_tmpdir compile-time constant if it is
set regardless of OS.
