Follow-up Comment #4, bug #53285 (project octave):
ishghandle.m is a leftover from older versions.
Prior to running "make install" delete the old installation.
I usually do something like
cd /usrlocal
find ./ -name "*octave*" | xargs rm -rf
but perhaps there are better ways.
