Follow-up Comment #3, bug #53410 (project octave):

I understand not seeing this one; it's real subtle.  It took me a while to
notice it was happening.  Without the patch, try docking everything, the
Variable Editor included.  Maybe put the Variable Editor in a tabbed dock
stack.  Then click from one window to the next and at some point the title bar
highlighting should seem to not move when it should.  Then pick the right
sequence and it will correct itself.
