Follow-up Comment #19, bug #40111 (project octave):
Regarding comment #18, I believe Octave should honor the JAVA_HOME override.
If it points to a non-existent directory then the responsibility lies on the
programmer to fix it, not Octave to try and figure out a suitable workaround
such as the compiled-in path in JAVA_LDPATH.
