Follow-up Comment #13, bug #54572 (project octave):
I'm attaching a stripped-down version of the code from oct-inttypes.h and
oct-inttypes.cc. I see the problem with GCC 8.2 using -O2 (-O1 is not enough
for me to trigger the bug) when OCTAVE_FAST_INT_OPS is defined. I could be
wrong, but I suspect a bug in Octave, not the compiler.
