Follow-up Comment #37, bug #54572 (project octave):
Oh, yes, the change in Comment #34 is fine for consistency sake. There was no
failure because following the logic through, one sees they are equivalent.
Based on the previous test results, the GCC optimizer probably figure's that
out and basically skips the 1's complement.
