Follow-up Comment #38, bug #54572 (project octave):
Any objection to eliminating the OCTAVE_HAVE_FAST_INT_OPS cases then? At this
point, it seems to just obscure for no good reason. I'd rather have clearer,
simple, standard-conforming code unless there is a GOOD reason to do
otherwise.
