[Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #54621] kbhit does not return on non-interactive shell

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #54621 (project octave):

We have tested octave 4.4.0 and there the given fix is already included. The
problem is that kbhit in an non-interactive shell does not return but waits
for a key pressed.

I think this issue is related to the change you have mentioned, because this
behavior is new in octave 4.4.0 (the mentioned change removed the check 

if (octave::application::interactive ())"


This leads to the effect that you can not rely on the fact that kbhit returns
in non-interactive shells.
