Follow-up Comment #29, bug #54622 (project octave):
OK, so maybe it is that on Windows the <CR> alone is left uninterpreted, and
only when it is <CR><LF> is it considered "\n". ostrsplit accepts multiple
delimiters. Could it be changed to
file_content = ostrsplit (fileread (fname), "\n\r");
or might that affect compatibility?
