Follow-up Comment #2, bug #54718 (project octave):
I don't understand how the original directory is not restored. In the
run_test_dir function in __run_test_suite__.m, an unwind_protect block is used
to restore the saved directory. Is this failure 100% reproducible for you?
I'm not sure what should happen with the file browser. Maybe it should not
update except when Octave displays a prompt. The behavior does seem different
with 4.4.1, but I still see the file browser changing sometimes, for example
when running the tests in the gzip.cc-tst file.
