Follow-up Comment #3, bug #54766 (project octave):
I think the issue is that .m-file association to the Octave binary being
installed is set by default (at least in the installation dialog but probably
deeper down). It even affects other Octave installations already present.
Is it possible to invoke some registry call to see if .m file are already
associated to some other program (e.g., Matlab or Freemat or ....) and if so
don't make the default setting to associate .m to Octave?
