Follow-up Comment #45, bug #54607 (project octave):
I propose the following (not yet complete) patch (file #45431):
1. Native file dialogs stay default
2. There is a qt-option "use_native_file_dialogs=true" to revert this decision
in case of problems (configurable via the "General" preference tab).
3. Long term goal: remove this option.
If you (especially Torsten) agree on this approach, I will complete this patch
for all occurrences of QFileDialog), roughly those of cset in comment #21.
