Details:

Manjaro 17.0 XFCE with Octave 4.4.1

See image, issue persists when unpinned.

Can be worked around by running as root.

I'm using Manjaro's Vertex-Maia theme with Mint-x icons.

Changing the icon theme doesn't update the icons in the file browser, so maybe
it's a caching issue?

Is there a log I can find for you?
