Follow-up Comment #19, bug #42136 (project octave):
@mmuetzel I don't see any hint of hair line on my system. I've now tried a few
different font sizes in the command window settings and I still see nothing.
I just looked into our copy of qterminal, and the unix variant has its own
custom code relevant to drawing the Unicode box drawing characters. LineFont.h
defines 128 bit-packed values encoding how to draw these characters. And it
turns out that U+256D through U+2573 are blank, so they are intentionally not
rendered. This code looks like it only handles the box drawing characters made
up of horizontal and vertical segments only.
