Follow-up Comment #26, bug #43651 (project octave):

Here is the Matlab output (recent version) for the code in comment #25:

* a screenshot -> t1_Screenshot
* the pdf output from the code in comment #25 -> t1_matlab
* the pdf output from the code in comment #25 but with the last code line
changes to "print -dpdf 'asdf.pdf'" -> t1_matlab_different

The Matlab screen output looks nice. Their pdf is not pretty either.
