Follow-up Comment #47, bug #50025 (project octave):
Maybe we could get this merged if we special-cased the workaround to just
macOS? It's quite a pain to be working with the default branch and having
Octave hang every time it's run. On my Mac, it often hangs so hard that Force
Quit doesn't work and I have to log out and back in to get rid of the dead
windows.
Here's a version of the patch that #ifdefs the workaround to macOS: file
#46530: octave-qt_alternate_quit_macos-apj-20190313.patch
(This patch also seems to clear up the issue with the non-GUI version of
octave crashing during the document generation step of the build.)
